Variable Layout Quilts

Variable Layout Quilts have every item sized to the size it wants to be, small, medium, big, square, rectangle, whatever! This is a great option if you have a lot of items, multiple sizes, strange sizes, want to incorporate large backs, etc. This layout comes with a small inner border and wider outer border. The outer border fabric is used in the interior as well though we can change that up if you wish. Generally for a twin size quilt I recommend a minimum of 20 items with decent sized logos. More can fit (depending on their size) if you have them. If you have 20 small logos then that is not enough for a twin size quilt. If you have 20 hockey jerseys and are adding backs to all of them, we could make a king size! In this case, the size of the logos matters as does the number of items. I have ways to stretch and ways to condense depending on what you have so try not to stress the numbers.

Variable Pricing

Variable Layout Quilts are usually the most expensive as they need lots more time in the design and construction process. They are also the most difficult to predict in price before the planning meeting. I price by the number of pieces for these with a starter base price depending on how large the quilt will be. Major modifications, extra patches, adding backs, etc. are $5 each.

There is no price difference between a smaller item and a larger one.

The following pricing table is for estimation only. It is very possible to have a twin size quilt with 35 pieces or a queen size quilt with only 20 very large shirts. The number of pieces (blocks) dramatically impacts price!
